Phyllis Walker

Ms. Walker is the Occupational Medical Services Supervisor with Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). She has served as DAPM since 2004 for an employee population of 4,300 of which 3,300 are safety-sensitive. She is responsible for managing an all-encompassing program which supports MARTA through a compliant FTA Drug & Alcohol Program, ensures workers’ physical/mental fitness to perform their jobs safely, offers efficient disability leave management, and engages interactive processes for exploration of job accommodations.

Prior to joining MARTA, Ms. Walker worked in private sector rehabilitation where her experience ranges from managing a multi-state territory of nurse and vocational case managers to workers’ compensation managed care for employers whose goals were to contain their cost through efficient medical management and aggressive return to work programs.

She is an inaugural member of MARTA’s 2014 Multi-Agency Exchange (MAX) Program. Ms. Walker holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and SHRM Certified Professional (CP) designation.
